Alimzhan "Watson" Islambekov, a player for Team Yandex, reflected on the reasons behind his squad's recent improvement in Dota 2. According to Watson, the addition of Martin "Saksa" Sazdov has been a major factor in the team's better results, bringing leadership and a presence that lifted the whole roster.
Watson explained that before joining Team Yandex he and teammate Malady had received several offers that ultimately did not materialize. He faced a choice between two teams and opted for Team Yandex. At roughly the same time, Saksa reached out and suggested they try playing together, a move that Watson credits with triggering the team's upward trajectory.
Team Yandex is competing at DreamLeague Season 27. In the opening round of the group stage the squad led by Islambekov defeated Virtus.pro with a 2:0 scoreline. Their next opponent in the event will be OG.
DreamLeague Season 27 runs from December 10 to December 21 in an online format. The tournament features 24 teams competing for a total prize pool of one million US dollars and 19,500 EPT points.
